12 Days Of Christmas Activities

The holidays are all about spending time with the ones we love, and at Remember When Homecare we know how important it is to feel included and enjoy each other's company. The activities that you do with your aging loved ones doesn't always have to be exciting or expensive to be special and meaningful. Simply being included and joining-in brings joy and helps older adults enjoy the season. This December we will be posting 12 activities that you can do with your aging loved ones over the holidays that everyone can enjoy, and make some lasting memories together.

Christmas events can be difficult at times when we struggle with activities that everyone can be part of, and this can become even more challenging if we have loved ones that are cognitively and/or mobility impaired. Today we are going to look at an activity that you and your loved one can do together with ease.

12 Days of Christmas: Activity #1

Take your loved ones to the Evergreen Festival on the Halifax Waterfront for an evening full of Christmas fun. This beautiful Christmas market is the perfect activity to do with everyone in your family no matter their age, there is something for everyone. It includes a Christmas Market with a variety of food and craft vendors. Take your loved one to get a Beaver Tail, or hot chocolate while strolling through the vendors and picking up any last minute locally-made Christmas gifts. There is also a seaside Ferris Wheel and The Mental Health Foundation Tree lot of Kindness.

If your loved one enjoys walking, you could also do Evergreen Bright which is a walkable outdoor trail of twinkling holiday light displays and installations along the Halifax waterfront, throughout downtown Halifax, Dartmouth, and beyond.

Whatever you decide to do, it's the time we spend together that matter the most.
